Someone said it rightly: “The children are our future; teach them well and let them lead the way”. And we are proud to say that students at DAV, RBE are committed to leading the way for a healthier and better environment with their constant efforts. It has been more than two decades now that we have been organising an anti-pollution drive ahead of Diwali. To promote a more sustainable and eco-friendly Diwali, DAV, RBE organises an Anti Pollution Rally within school premises and surrounding areas. For the last twenty years, DAV has been trying to raise public awareness about the increasing air and noise pollution generated by the bursting of crackers. This year, marked the significant event and like each year, our young eco warriors (students of VI-VIII) urged everyone to celebrate Green and Noiseless Diwali with their thought-provoking slogans like ‘Say No to Crackers and Yes to Life’, ‘Hamari Dharti hum hi Bacchae, Bina Patakhe Diwali Manae’; ‘Green India, Clean India’; ‘Diwali Hum Manayenge; and Patake Nahi Jalayenge’. These determined and passionate planet pals reached out to a large gathering with their powerful jingles, colourful placards, headgears, and sashes that highlighted the harmful effects of crackers on health and the environment. In addition to this, a very vital part of the drive was the Green Diwali Pledge. Students and teachers made a promise to celebrate the festival with consideration for the environment, contributing their bit to the global goal of environmental protection.
