A Disaster Management orientation for teachers was conducted with a focused emphasis on preparedness, prevention and prompt response to emergencies within the school campus. The session sensitively highlighted the importance of a well-defined exit and evacuation plan, ensuring safe, orderly movement during unforeseen situations. Teachers were familiarised with essential emergency linkages, including the nearest police station, hospital and fire station, reinforcing the value of swift coordination with civic services. For the earthquake drill, the universally accepted safety mantra “Drop, Cover and Hold On” was reinforced, while the fire drill stressed “Crawl, Cover and Go” to minimise risk and ensure safe evacuation. The session was thoughtful and empowering, equipping teachers with clarity, confidence and responsibility.
