A Disaster Management Mock Drill was successfully conducted for students of Classes III to VIII to spread awareness about safety measures during emergencies like earthquakes and fire accidents. The session aimed to prepare students to respond calmly, quickly, and safely in difficult situations.
Students were trained in the important “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique for earthquakes. They learned to immediately get down, take cover under desks or sturdy furniture, protect their head and neck, and hold firmly until the shaking stops.
For fire safety, students were guided about safe evacuation procedures, maintaining discipline during emergencies, and moving quickly towards assembly points without panic. Teachers demonstrated how to stay low to avoid smoke and follow emergency exit routes safely.
The mock drill helped students understand the importance of preparedness, presence of mind, teamwork, and safety awareness in emergency situations.
